Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access secure. You may not automate abusive activity, bypass access controls, impersonate others or use the service unlawfully.
Your content and source material
You retain rights in your original commentary. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce and technically process content you submit only as needed to provide and improve the service and make it available according to your visibility settings. You must have the right to upload or share every annotation, capture, comment, audio clip and link, and must preserve accurate attribution and source links. Public content may be viewed and reshared by anyone; unlisted content may be accessed and reshared by anyone who has its link. Do not publish confidential information or personal data you are not entitled to disclose.
Quotations, fair use and source excerpts
Legal exceptions for quotations, criticism, review, reporting and “fair use” differ by country and do not give a blanket right to republish third-party material. Keep every capture limited to what is reasonably necessary for your commentary, add meaningful original context, credit the creator and preserve the direct source link. You remain responsible for checking whether your use is permitted where you and your audience are located. Rights holders can use the claim process to request review or removal.
Illegal and prohibited content
You may not upload, post, link to or share content that is illegal; infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity or other rights; contains child sexual abuse or exploitation material; promotes terrorism or illegal violence; constitutes unlawful hate speech, threats, harassment or non-consensual intimate material; facilitates fraud, scams, malware or illegal goods or services; or is otherwise intended to harm people or compromise the service. You must not use Annotated to evade a removal decision or encourage others to distribute prohibited content.
Content moderation and reports
We may review content after a report or on our own initiative and may remove it, reduce its visibility, disable sharing, block access, preserve relevant evidence or restrict or suspend an account when we reasonably believe content violates these terms, our guidelines, applicable law or third-party rights. We may act without advance notice where urgent action is needed to prevent harm, comply with law or protect the service. Where appropriate, we will consider context, severity, recurrence and the rights and legitimate interests of affected people, and may notify the affected user of our decision and available review options. To report allegedly illegal content or a rights violation, use the claim link on the relevant annotation or email website@4vor4.com with the URL, the legal reason and supporting information.
Availability and enforcement
Failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later. The contest MVP is provided for testing and may change, experience interruptions or be discontinued.
Liability
Statutory liability applies for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health and mandatory product liability. For ordinary negligence, liability is limited to breach of essential contractual duties and foreseeable typical damage, to the extent permitted by law.
Governing law
German law applies, excluding conflict-of-law rules, without limiting mandatory consumer protections. If you are a merchant, the place of jurisdiction is the provider’s registered office where legally permitted.
